Then we visited with our cousins and giggled on the tire swing.

I(4.5) also decided it was time for him to swim, so off he goes with his goggles and tube. Jumping right off the diving board!

Happy Birthday H!

We celebrated again because we can, H’s birthday at Cheesecake Factory. She had her favorite, raspberry white chocolate cheesecake and N(2) helped her blow out the candles.

Summer Harvest 2014

We are really enjoying the summer house this year and had a great time harvesting squash and eggplant. If only mom knew how to cook it. =)

I(4) decided to borrow my sunglasses for harvesting.

Bones for Lala

We were excited to win Best Au Pair runner up and with our gift certificate, we promised Lala a dinner that we could all share. Pablo opted for Bones, as it was a place that neither of us had ever experienced and we would have a good memory of dining with Lala.  Pablo and Lala shared the 28 oz. porterhouse and had enough to take home for dinner the next day.

We discovered at dinner that Lala in her 1.5 years here so far, has yet to dine at Waffle House. We need to make sure she adds it to her Atlanta bucket list.  In the interim, she ordered hashbrowns as a side for dinner, along with an order of Mac N Cheese and Asparagus. It was divine and thankfully, we missed the mad rush of the Post Masters crowd.

Fickle Pickle Birthday

I was super excited that the barn at Fickle Pickle was first come first serve - it worked out perfectly for the family to join us for a birthday dinner there.

Of course, I(2.75) took hold of the camera and took some cute photos.

Hibachi for Christmas

We did what any other family who doesn’t celebrate Christmas does, we went out for Japanese. We really thought that it would be entertaining for I(2.75) with the fire, volcano and  to watch the food get cooked in front of you.

He didn’t dig the fire, nor the volcano, but he did like the chef throwing shrimp at him. In fact, I think that the shrimp was the highlight of his meal. We ordered chicken for him, but he ended up eating all the shrimp.

We rubbed the Budda belly for good luck.

This was I(2.75)’s fortune. In fact, all of our fortunes said something about “this weekend.”

I wonder if the fortune world was getting flack for making the fortune’s for the future vs.

immediate future.

And N? Well, he sported his driedel tie for Xmas dinner.

After dinner we made a stop near our house where they cover the lawn and some of their house in blow ups.

In honor of Lala this year, we celebrated Xmas Eve with a traditional Mexican/Catholic dinner.

Lala is a fabulous cook and prepared a feast. On the menu:

Turkey stuffed with Meat

Spaghetti with homemade tomato sauce and ham

Fruit salad – pineapple, apple, shredded carrots, raisins, mayonnaise.

and Flan.

Yum!

Senor I’s Mexican Fiesta Birthday

Our (soon to be famous) LaLa prepared one heck of a feast, from designing the invitations to planning the menu, decorating and being our mixologist made I’s 2nd birthday a vey happy and memorable event.

Our homemade Pinata that LaLa and Star worked on over the course of the last two weeks. El Senor is his name.

Lala’s menu included Chicken Tinga and beef and chicken flautas with key lime pudding, rice pudding, jello and strawberry yogurt (I’s favorite!).

Our guests were decked in mustaches.

We let the kids have a go at it and Cousin E really made a dent, but in the end Pablo took down El Senor.

The kiddies collected candies and toys that El Senor shared with them:

Flautas–Yum!

K has been spoiling us with Mexican dishes and we’ve been loving it! Chilequenas was our treat last week, but at a special request, K made flautas again. They were so wonderful and lasted us all week long.

Boiled chicken that’s very tender and moist rolled by hand in corn tortillas and then fried lightly. Topped with Mexican crème, iceberg lettuce, fresh salsa verde – delish!
