London - Hyde Park & V&A Museum

The V&A Museum in London is devoted to strictly textiles. There you can see the history of jewelry, how precious stones give way to modern metalwork. And, if you catch them the right time of year, beautiful sumptious hydrangeas.

The Weintraub's do museums well, 30-45 minutes and we're OUT. Off to other great adventures....

We walked down Gloucester Road to Hyde Park where we did exactly that, Hyde. The slingback chairs sucked us in and we watched a myriad of folks come and go.

Can you find us under those big trees?

Wales, UK

The Weintraub's travel to Wales! We were invited to spend the day with Paul's 1st cousin Edith and her husband Peter Saundby. Janice and Phil stayed with them in the house in the village and Paul and I were just a short distance away in the Red Lion Inn in Llangynidr. Literally, just a 2 minute walk. We had such an enjoyable visit with them. Peter enjoyed telling us stories of World World II and Britain's history, while Edith prepared dinner and shared with us photographs of Paul's grandmother and mother.

Late in the afternoon, after Edith's grandchildren returned from school, we took at walk through the fields. Garance is in there somewhere...isn't she? And Paul showed off his soccer skills with Vienny, Garance's little brother.
We venuted back to London by way of Tinturn Abbey and Bath where we enjoyed afternoon tea and some delicious scones at the Pump House next to the Roman Baths. Everything was green and even though it was beautiful, as soon as Paul put on the classical music, we were all asleep in the car. Thank goodness for Dutch pancakes for dinner!

Ashley & Mark's Wedding Day

Ashley and Mark were married in Atlanta at Park Tavern in Piedmont Park. Close to our version of Central Park, which was quite fitting since Central Park is where they were engaged!

We started the morning at Aveda Institute where we had hair and makeup done. Ashley’s do was easily the most complicated and it turned out beautifully!

Durham, Glass and Lightening

We haven't seen Brian since New Years and never have we visited him, so we made the 6 hour trek to Durham, NC to spend July 4th weekend with our friend, Dr. Coan. A small pebble must have hit the windsheild somewhere in Charleston and the crack eased it's way across to the middle of the glass. Paul was not a happy camper...but it's since been replaced, just like new.
We attend the Eno River Festival on Friday and enjoyed listening to FiddleBox - beat boxing and fiddling - have you ever?

The symphony Saturday evening was just spectacular and Morgan's sister joined us for the show and fireworks. Little did we know that we'd get swept up in the massive storm that followed and thankfully, Paul brought us safely back to Brian's house. Kubrick's Full Metal Jacket tucked us in that night.

Thanks for the popsicles!
