Our friend J and his daughter C(2), I(2)’s playmate joined Pablo and I for Father’s Day and a hike at the Hooch. The kiddos had a great time exploring the caves and the weather was chill and beautiful. And no, we didn’t color coordinate, they just both happened to be in yellow that day. Happy Fathers Day Pablo and J!
I(2) and I departed the house at about 1pm headed towards the Lake to see Mimi, Gamp, Aunt A and our cousins. We made a bathroom pit stop, as I(2) is doing fabulous with his potty training!
We’ve been having a good time with our cousins at Lake Hartwell. While we had 0 nap up until 5 minutes before we pulled into the house, it was perfect, because E(5) and N(3) were ready to run in circle with I(2).
Gamp and Mimi took us all out on the boat this morning. I(2) did not want to give up the captain seat, but he shared with his cousins.
And then I(2) and I jumped into the lake…he loved it.
I(2) had a great time investigating the toys at Anderson, SC’s Goodwill store and we walked out with some bouncy balls and a bag full of dinosaurs. But I think what was more fun than that was riding in the cart with his Cuzins.
We dined in downtown Hartwell and caught a ride on this 4 wheeler before the folks there closed up shop. Look at Cuz N(3) holding onto I(2), so cute!
We saw a Georgia Outdoor special on Gibbs Gardens and decided we needed to go visit this year. It turned out to be shady most of the time there and a lil breezy, so we lucked out weather wise.
Gibbs boasts that it’s the largest Japanese Garden in the US. Pablo and I were married at the Morikami, so we’re a little biased, but Gibbs did a beautiful job. We even liked his touch of the Buddah.
I(2) had fun touching the statues.
And walking in under the trellises.
And trying not to swim with the coy fish.
The hydrangeas were all in bloom when we were there, blue, white, purple – they were pretty and smelled so nice!
