We had fun with our cousins on Thanksgiving this year, hosted the event at our house, complete with snowball fight and some xbox dancing.

All work has gone inside now. We’re tapped and spackled and ready for trim and paint.

It’s 754pm and I’m sitting in the living room our our summer home listening to the boys talk in their shared room. I can’t quite make out what they are saying, but it’s pretty entertaining and calm. I love this! With today being the first day of school, I would have thought they would have been wiped out. Why do they always have to prove me wrong? =)

Case de Weintraub is coming along. Had a bit of a hiccup with the HVAC team. Engaged a new group Monday who sent an estimate, only 24 hours later I find out it was not quite inclusive of all that was needed. Got them to relax a bit on their “bait and switch” and they will be starting Friday.

Pluming is roughed in. Next HVAC and then electrical.

Removed the mantle on our fireplace and will be removing the brick and the fireplace cubbie. Ready to drywall it up for a future direct vent fireplace.

Lost track of the week, but today our fireplace was installed and boys had fun measuring themselves against it.

They also started to fix this:

HVAC installation and electrician start tomorrow.

Demo on the back window and doors to open the dining room to the sunroom. So exciting!

We had a productive week this week while we are away.

It was only 4 years ago when we renovated the house the 1st time and now we’re going for Round 2. Thankfully, we found some kind neighbors who were leaving for the Summer and agreed to rent us their house. We have good Karma and are across the street from our house during the renovations. Yes, we are lucky folk.

And the demo begins. We were a bit worried that N(4) would be upset that his bedroom was disappearing and being replaced with stairs…

…but he’s more excited about the staircase and his room being UPstairs. Whew!
