With Pablo at school, I(2) and I set off to visit the Imagine It! Childrens Museum downtown. It was my 2nd time there and we opted to go with an annual pass this year.
We had fun playing dress up:
And painting and making sand castles and playing house….it was quite a morning!
We attempted to go to Mariscos, one of Lala’s new found restaurants on Father’s Day, but it was a fail and we ended up eating at one of Pablo’s favorites – New Paradise instead. The best part of that day was when Pablo and Lala wanted bubble tea and all of a sudden, we hear from the rear of the car “Bubble Tea.” We all started laughing and even I(2) join in the giggles. Of course, we had to get him his own bubble tea. He amazed us at how well he drank the tea. As you may or may not know, the tapioca pearls are pretty big and it was fun to watch him stop sipping so that he could chew on the tapioca pearls.
We finally made it to Mariscos the following weekend and had a grand time watching the Mariachi band with a customer mimicing a famous Mexican performer who sings outrageously and slings his drink while doing so. It was quite entertaining. I(2) was a little taken aback by the noise, but it was fun to be part of it while everyone was singing along. They performed the entire time we were there.
Enjoying a sip of Mom’s lemonade. The glass is bigger than his head!
While Pablo was enjoying the slightly cooler weather of the northeast, Uncle S, Aunt K and Cousins S(4) and R(2) introduced I(2) and I to the Cumming Aquatics Center. It was a blast and we already have plans to go back. You can walk in the pool easily and there’s plenty for the kids to be entertained by. I(2)’s favorite part were the water blasters and the whirlpool. With his floaties on, I stood in front of him as he floated towards me with the pull of the water. It was such a treat!
Thanks Aunt K for taking all the pictures!
I(2) and I went home after the water park, with me full expecting that he’d be wiped out. I think he caught a little cat nap in the car and then that was it – no nap. What shocked me most was his energy level for the rest of the day. Lala made flautas for us and Aunt K and Uncle S came to our house with the girls for dinner so that we could go to the condo to see the fireworks at Lenox. Somewhere in between we watch Shrek with the kids and then it was off to see the fireworks!
I(2) has a fascination with taking pictures, so I let him go to town. Here are some of the better shots. My favorite is this video though.
Most of the concert was spent under the umbrella, but there were slight breaks. Do you love this photo bomber behind us? Hysterical!
We had a woman next to us who was very friendly in sharing her mini jello shots. She told us it was the key to her making friends at Nascar races. She was lovely…really, she was.
How we spent most of the evening. It was quite cozy.
I(2) has a great time with Lala. She always makes him giggle and it’s fun to see the shots she’s captured with him on film.
We’ll be welcoming DOS into our lives on August 14th, so everyone mark your calendar to find out if Baby Weintraub Numero Dos is a girl or a boy. I(2) knows both the girls name and boys name and lately he’s been 75% sure it’s a boy. If DOS is a girl, I(2) might continue to call the baby the boys name, but I think we’re ok with that. It will be their little secret.
In preparation for this event, I(2) and having completed 90% of potty training has been upgraded to a new room and a big boy bed. What 2 year old get’s a queen size bed? What a lucky kid! He’s been so good with potty training that Lala, Pablo and I are overjoyed and for the past week or so, he pushes us out of the bathroom with him, saying that he wants to go by himself. Which is a great step in independence, but he always comes out sans pants. Boys!
I(2) also starts camp next week, getting him ready for school which starts just two weeks after DOS’ arrival. We’re hoping that he’ll take it all in stride, since we’ve been having conversations with him about school and about the baby. Every time I mention school, he smiles – so that’s a good sign.
I(2) and I are very proud of Pablo, who recently was accepted to the joint eMBA program between Cornell University and Queens College in Canada. I’m just waiting for him to bring home the large flag to hang on our mailbox.
Pablo and I are also so excited to announce that Lala is going to continue with us for another year. We are overjoyed, as we all know how much I(2) loves her even if she withholds some strawberries here and there.
And so, do you think DOS looks like I(2)?
