Fun with Cuzin’s

After attending a Hip Mommies, Happy Babies outing at Champions gymnastic/play gym this morning, we stopped by to see Little Miss Shortcake and Little Miss Sunshine and enjoyed bouncing in their seat.

Little Man

I can’t believe how much this little guy is growing!

Last month I had him on the bed and was nibbling on his belly and I truly heard giggles coming from the little guy. I was able to keep the giggles coming while Pablo walked into the room and he and I were about on the floor with joy. It’s such a great feeling to not only get a response from your little one, but to know that he’s enjoying you as much as you enjoy him.

What’s the latest now a days? Little Man is flipping over like crazy and his bald spot on the back of his head is just about filling in. He’s spending a lot of time on his tummy and this week started rocking back and forth and steering with his hands. It’s amazing to watch his changes.

It’s been about a month now that he’s been eating solids. Avocado was his first food and we moved onto Sweet potatoes. Below is some mango applesauce that I whipped up and boy is it yummy! I even want to eat it. The Little Man must be my kid because last week we had spinach and sweet potatoes mixed and he liked it. Especially when he saw what was waiting for dessert!  Carrots and bananas have also passed the test. Next week? We move onto blueberries and handheld avocado. He’s a pro at grasping, but needs to work on fine tuning his pinching skills, although my arms begs to differ.

Fall Fun

Poor little blog, I’m sorry we’ve been away for so long. I can’t believe the entire month of October is almost gone and we haven’t updated you.

Uncle Jon came to visit with us the end of September and we went to Atlantic Station for the Eco Fair where we purchased a compost bin. Yes, I know, I know – really? compost? Moi? I assured Pablo there were no critters able to get inside to the goods.  Gotta love, Little Man, thinking everything is food.  Let’s just hope he doesn’t join the ranks of Aaron Zimmern any time soon.

First Overnight Guests

We had our first overnight guests at Casa Weintraub this past weekend.  Grammie J and Grandpa Phil flew up from Florida and showered Little Man with hugs and kisses! One week earlier they sat in the stands at the Ohio State vs. Miami game in Columbus, OH and brought Little Man back an official shirt – Go Buckeyes!

Pablo and Dad worked hard to assemble the grill and our new king sized bed. Don’t you just love that it’s shrink wrapped? Don’t let that mattress fool you, it weighed a ton!

Welcome to the Neighborhood

Pablo and I attempted to get things moved in on Friday and we’re pretty successful at getting our mattress and Little Man’s crib there so we could spend our first night in our new house.  Our super handy bro Mark helped us and we were so thankful for his help. Not only did he help get the bedding moved in, he also helped Pablo with what Pablo thought was essential to moving into a new house – our TV.

Sunday was our official move in and we had the crew out to help: Scott, Ricardo, Shaun and Jennifer, Sean and Kelly (along with Rae and Miss Shortcake). We are so blessed to have all the help we did. A couple of trips to the storage unit, two trips to the condo – and wall – ah! Finito! It was a crazy day and Little Man sure appreciated Nanny Rebecca coming out to play.

We were welcomed to the neighborhood this week by our neighbor who visited us with her two daughters and brought this sweet gift stuffed with a house blessing book and a fluffy little bunny rabbit for Little Man. 2010 09 12 neighbor gift (1)

Our First Rosh Hashana

Little Man was on his best behavior, or maybe he just loved wearing his Yami. Aunt Sherry and Uncle Ike can’t wait to have him back to visit. When he wasn't sitting with us at the table, he had a great time looking at Aunt Sherry’s colorful paintings and glassworks.

Little Miss Shortcake’s 2nd Birthday

Isn’t she the cutest? Little Miss Shortcake turned 2 this weekend! We celebrated with her at her pool. The weather was gorgeous and Little Man enjoyed his pool time with the family.

Little Man – Month 5

Little Man and I had a great evening in the park outside the condo a couple of days ago. He really loved the fresh air, the chirping birds and watching the water dance in the fountain.  He’s really enjoying being on his tummy and loves to look at everything. My finger trigger was ready and I was the proud recipient of many smiles. I can’t wait to have him outside on our screen porch listening the birdies chirp in the morning. He accompanied me this morning at 7am to water the lawn and our plants at the house. It’s been awfully hot during the day and at 70 degrees at 7am, I couldn’t pass it up.

So you ask, what’s the latest this month in the world of Little Man? He’s been practicing sitting up. He holds if for a few seconds and then slumps to one side or ends up on his tummy. He’s evolved his smile into a laugh and we often catch him laughing playing by himself. I love that he’s self-entertaining. No more pacifier for him, he’s onto bigger and better things. While no teeth have popped through, it’s just a matter of time because (if you can’t see it in the pictures) there’s definitely drool.  He’s very good with his feet (he must get that from his father). I had a washcloth over my face the other day asking him where Mommy was hiding. The Little Man pulled the washcloth off with his feet! Not once, but three times! His arm strength is progressing as well. He beat me at push up’s today before his bath. How can you look at the pics below and not smile? I’m giggling just writing this.     2010 08 31 ilan park
