Halloween 2012

We had a fabulous Halloween this year. Not only was it truly I(2.5)’s 1st Halloween where he understood that if you knock on neighbors doors, you get candy, but also we volunteered to host the block party at our house this year. It was a grand time and we had the opportunity to meet new neighbors and share stories with many who have been here for a long time. N(2mos) was a perfect little dino, slept through most of the party and helped me give out candy to the kids while Pablo and I(2.5) went trick or treating.

And Lala was awesome, she tricked our house out for the party with spider webs, black balloons and spiders.

Johns Creek Art Festival

With Pablo at school, we met up with Aunt K and Cousins S(4) and R(2.5) at the JOhns Creek Arts Festival. We stopped in Cumming for Dutch Monkey Doughnuts and it was so crowded, that the line literally curved around the back by the bathrooms. Wow – we love this place. There was no place to sit, so we all climbed in to Aunt K’s trunk and ate there. Yum! Then I(2.5) wanted to go with S(4) in Aunt K’s car, so I took N(2mos) and R(2.5) with me.  I(2.5) is usually quiet in the back seat, but my new passenger was even more sore.  K told me that poor I(2.5) was being told by S(4) how to brush your hair, teeth, get dressed in the morning – the whole routine, as though she was his Mommy. Too funny! I imagine, I(2.5), like many males, rolling his eyes in his seat.

I(2.5) had a balloon on his hand as we were walking out of the festival and it slipped off his hands and flew up into the air. Poor little guy was so upset, crying and wanting his balloon to come back. I told him that it wanted to fly and was going to talk to the clouds to thank them for such a beautiful day. He didn’t buy it.

Pumpkins

Lala and friends wasted no time in carving our pumpkin for Halloween. I(2.5) helped all that he could, but lost interest pretty quickly – especially once he was given a lollipop.

He was, however, quite proud of the finished result and it was a grand masterpiece. Thank you Lala for a beautiful pumpkin!

Cereal–All By Myself

What do a 2.5 year old do when his mother leaves him with a small bowl of cereal and milk? He pours himself some more…and uses something other than his spoon.

Discovery

We spent some time hanging out in the driveway. Little did I know that I(2.5) was exploring items in my car. This is what happens when I leave my boy alone.

Hillcrest Orchards

We took a trip to Hillcrest Orchard today, our favorite spot for apple picking in the fall.  We also spent some time on the bicycles and visiting the animals….oh, yes, and a trip down the slide.

 

Sukkah Prep and Party

I(2.5) and I prepped art for Sukkah and then attended his school’s Sukkah party with Daddy.  We had a great time making a lulva and etrog (mandarin orange), but the pretzel quickly was eaten as was the “etrog.” But nothing was more fun than building our own sukkah out of candy and graham crackers!
