Fernbank

We had a great time at the Fernbank Museum.

They have a great environmental section with turtle and a tree with a bridge that that kids love.

We walked (rather quickly) through the Darwin exhibit.Not sure why I(1.5) didn’t quite care for the many kinds of finches.

Playground with Cousins

We had a great time with I(1.5)’s cousins, J(11) and R(9).It was a pleasure in the shade and I and J enjoyed climbing this funky looking sculpture.

Christmas Day in the Sand

We spent Christmas morning at Juno Beach. 80 degrees and sunny it was breezy and beautiful. I(1.5) loves the water.

December 24th in South Florida

We spent the day in South Florida where I(1.5) has a great time with his cousins N(2) and R(7mos).  We arrived at 1030am and let the boys play and eat pizza for lunch before they both took their naps. After they woke up, we walked around the block to the local park, where Uncle J and Pablo taught the boys some soccer skills.

We lit the candles on the Menorah and then sat down to eat dinner and then open presents.


And at the end of a wonderful evening, N(2) serenaded us with an acoustic guitar session.

Chanukkah Florida Style

We had a great time celebrating Channukah with J, R, Uncle J and I along with Grammie J and Papa in Florida.  It was fun to watch R, J and I interact with 1(1.5). He had a great time chasing his cousin J around the living room. I(1.5) even managed to knock him down and climb on J’s back.  

Morikami 2011

It was an adventure for us to take I(1.5) to Morikami Gardens where Pablo and I were married about 6.5 years earlier.  We walked in the door and the welcome to Morikami Gardens book had a picture from our wedding on it! How cool! It’s this one where we’re on the bridge with the girls and their parasols. Who would have known we’re local celebrities?
This is the spot where we were married and Pablo watched a coy jump from the water during our ceremony.

Playing in the Park

We’ve been having fun in Florida. This morning we went for a walk to show K the grounds and caught up with Grammie J at the pool where she was finishing her laps. I(1.5) enjoyed throwing the ball to her in the pool and then admired the yachts along the boardwalk. I asked him which one he wanted to buy for his parents, but he didn’t answer. I’m sure he’ll be designing his own one day. 

At the playground, he almost climbed this pole by himself.  Don’t you see that look he’s giving Dad?

He loves the monkey bars.

Sometimes 1(1.5) gets a little bossy. You can definitely tell from this picture, he wants K to sit over there.

Channukah 2011

Channuakh 2011 began with Mimi teaching the kids to play dreidel. I think all they were interested in was eating the chocolate. I’m sure I(1.5) swallowed some of the wrapping foil. Lovely.

Our dinner was sans veggies, a completely white Channuakh dinner. Challah, Turkey, Mashed Potatoes, Potato Latkes and Applesauce.

Lash, please tell me your son is not giving me the “L” for loser sign.

Look at this Little Princess and her lovely locks…

I(1.5) couldn’t decide what to play with the backho or the guitar, so he chose both. Gotta love a boy who can multitask!
