Disney’s Epcot

Pablo and I spent Monday morning at Epcot where we played the Piggy Bank game and learned how to save. It’s a great game for lil kidlets. Check it out:  Piggy Bank.HPIM4954 I know I’m corny, but it was the cutest little piggie!

After we innovated and Soared, we ventured to the candy making in Japan. I was sad when the cute Japanese lady passed me over when she was hand creating rice candy, but I just imagine that they didn’t taste that good; that made me feel better about it.

After Japan, we jumped over to Norway and took a ride on the Maelstrom….well, that and we shook hands with our friend the troll.

Silly me, I almost forgot a great part of the day. It was late afternoon when we got back to our room from Disney and Pablo and I watched an amazing rainstorm and then braved the remaining drops to have a late dinner at Ciao Italia. It was delicious and Pablo booked the whole restaurant just for us.

Slurpees, Sizzler and Friendly’s

Who would have known that Orlando is home to the last remaining Sizzler and Ponderosa. We happened to see two of them during our stay. Amazing! I couldn’t help myself, I had to get out of the car and do the little Sizzler dance.

Of course no trip to Florida nor NJ is complete without a little Sleven action and some Slurpees. I think Pablo and I had one each day we were there. Like we needed the added sugar. It was cool and slightly refreshing after the Florida sunshine.

Scratch that, I think the Slurpees are the third best reason to go to Florida. Family first, Friendly’s second and then Slurpees.  I had to have my 5 scoop Jim Dandy with chocolate chip ice cream and their famous marshmallow sauce. It was delicious, and yes, I made it last 2 days.

Pablo and Edie invade Orlando

HPIM4933 We were very proud of our colorful lunch. Celery with peanut butter, Pluots, peaches and crackers with Manchego cheese.

Pablo and I ventured to Downtown Disney late Sunday afternoon to enjoy our complimentary ticket to Disney’s Quest. Sadly most of the games I wanted to play were anti-pregnant women. Bah-humbug!  We did enjoy the Pirates of the Caribbean game in which Pablo played captain and I was the sole deck hand that had to bomb all the oncoming ships and steal their gold. It was quite a workout! I think that it was so popular that they created the new Toy Story game at Hollywood Studios into a larger scale version of the same mechanics of this game.

We dined at Portobello on the water, great atmosphere, but the food was just so so.

Afterwards we stopped in to visit Legoland and spent some time with Crush and Figment.

Raw to Pregnancy Journal?

FOCUS - Looks like this may become my pregnancy journal in addition to the raw food journal. Well, that is if I allow myself an excuse for falling off the raw wagon every once in a while.
ACTION - I had a craving for a Bison burger last week and I'm meeting a friend for dinner at Ted's tonight. Bison is so so good! A wheat bun a little ketchup and onions and I'm in heaven. I'm trying to keep it to a minimum, but I understand that the protein is good for me.
FUEL -
A @ 730am - Water
B @ 8am - Fruity Pebbles and Rice Krispies, I know, I know not the breakfast of champions, but as soon as I finish this box, I'm retiring them.
L @ 130pm - Mangosteen Madness regular Smoothie King smoothie with 2 Tb of green powder (supercharge me!)
D @ 715pm - Bison burger on whole wheat bun with Swiss cheese and sadly, yes, onion rings to boot.
EMOTIONS -
Not feeling particular high nor low, but excited about our next ultrasound where we can hear the heart beat - Sept 18th. Yippie!
PHYSICAL -
My pants are starting to be tighter and at the doctors office today, I weighed in 7 pounds heavier than what I've been at eating high raw. Not happy about it, but I forgive lil WIP.  I feel like I am having cramps, but as I understand it it’s my uterus expanding. This week it should be about the size of a grapefruit vs. before I was pregnant, it was the size of my fist. I’m sad that I can’t continue to do kickboxing, as it was really great for my ass, but I’m sure I can come up with something to do;walking is starting to get boring unless I’m with a friend or listen to music.  Rachel and Seth gave me free 5 yoga classes which I’m really psyched about and will probably continue for the remainder of my pregnancy.  I may also start working out with Pam again. She’s offering two days a week for $18 each, but its $20 a month for the gym, so it’s about $22/session – which is still really a good deal.
SPIRITUAL -
I do my best to talk to WIP each night, tucking WIP in and advising them to grow big and strong, but to let me sleep. Doctor said that since I had a breast reduction, it's unlikely that I will be able to breastfeed, however, I am not sure I believe him and I'm going to affirm that I will be able to do so for at least a month that way the baby can have ample nutrients that they need.
LEARNING -
What did I learn today?

GRATITUDE – I am thankful for being able to experience the gift of life.
QUOTE -

WIP

We have a Weintraub in Process. Pablo loved it when I said that because it was like his manufacturing term "Work in Process." Our little one had a 120 beat per minute heartbeat today and we go in again in a week for another ultrasound.

You’re not in Kansas anymore…no wait, we are in Kansas!

Dad and I ventured out to Wichita to meet up with Pablo for the weekend. Upon arriving, he took us to the plant in Hesston – but of course, we stopped at the infamous Lincoln Perk on Lincoln Blvd. The choco-banana shake was indeed as delicious as Pablo said it was.

He even got us a ride on a combine, with a little assistance from Ricky, a former Alpharettan. What a small world.  Don’t know about how well Dad faired, but I got reprimanded for going too fast over the little bumps. It’s amazing how much you can feel them in that big machine!

Friday night we walked around Old Town Wichita, a quaint little city with tons of bars, clubs and restaurants. The Courtyard was in the middle of it all. Surprisingly, Paul orchestrated a concert in the square for us that night and we chose some prime seats on the grass to listen to a little live music.

After the concert, we jumped the trolley and took a ride over to Little Arkansas River.

We had a little fun with the sculptures along our walk back to the hotel.

Saturday was an action packed day. We drove to Cindy’s house and met her husband, Bryant. What a hoot! The two of them should go on the road. We had the best time laughing with them. Cindy went above and beyond, taking us to a horse farm where we met Don’s family and his horse whisperer daughter, Melissa. She helped Pablo and I jump on a horse bareback (with a little help from a small rock). Pablo and I were amazed that Don was able to call his horses over and they all hung out around us. It was so cute! After the horse farm, we drove next door to visit Leonard and his cattle. Leonard wanted to show me that his cattle were grass fed and free-range. He also made sure to point out that the marijuana grows wild, that I could take whatever I wanted. Gotta love it! He spoke to the local police about it and they said not to worry, it wasn’t the “good” kind. Nonetheless, the cattle were cute, but since there was 3 calves and a bull, we opted to stay in the souped up golf cart. Turns out Leonard has one cattle killed each year and keeps all the meat in his freezer to eat and buys another one at auction to replace it.  Cindy and Bryant, our third leg of the trip, took us to Ellsworth, Kansas to show off the Windmill Farm.  Turns out 155 windmills power 80,000 homes. Oh, and I bet Pablo $0.25 that I could roll the hay... We stopped at the local grocery store to pick up the finishing touches for our Enchiladas and Pablo couldn’t help but show off the local meat.

Since we more or less conked out after a day on the road exploring Kansas on Saturday, we spent a leisurely Sunday driving around the Wichita State University campus before making our way to Pablo’s co-workers Mark’s BBQ.  And what did we find there? We discovered the first Pizza Hut! Dad tried to get in, but they weren’t serving here anymore. Dad expressed his disappointment, since White Castle was also created in Wichita and there wasn’t one anywhere near the city.

HPIM4850 HPIM4851All in all, it was a fun trip and we’re definitely returning to spend time with Cindy and Bryant!
