Atlanta Aquarium

Mom and Dad took us to Max and Erma’s for dinner and then we visited Atlanta’s first Aquarium. To date, the largest in the world. My favorites were the beluga whales, they seemed so friendly and eager to play. Pablo was traveling this week, so we missed him being there with us.

Halloween 2005

Halloween has a way of making us do crazy things, like dress up as Geishas.
Shaun Chang and Paul were the cutest Geishas ever!

Adam got caught with his tail sneaking up the angels dress.
Sean and Kelly came as Lionho and Cheetarah from Thundercats - Ho!

Puerto Rico

 DSC01875

I visited with Pablo in San Juan while he was working in Mayaguez on the western edge of the Island for a project for J&J.

Every corner had a McD or Burger King and to give directions, the locals told us to turn left at the 3rd McD. Crazy!

The police drive around with their lights on all the time, so you never know when they’re coming for you.

We enjoyed some time on the beach and a short hike in the rainforest.

Labor Day 2005

Labor Day, Destin Florida - 2005

The hurricane pulled Blue Crabs into the Gulf and Ashley, Mark and Paul caught them one morning to make crab cake benedict with Chef Coan.

Honeymoon 2005

Paul and I spent an enjoyable day at the Rock Church, where Paul played the organ and all rejoiced. We walked around the fort - Suomenlinna.  DSC01673

I thought this door was precious and totally didn’t see that funny hat above me!

You may notice Paul still in a red shirt, still his clothes did not make it to the ship. Our Russian excursion was short and sweet and the tour guide ignored our questions about the recent political changes and it's effect on the people. We learned that the birth rate was $0 because the average Russian makes $500 a month. Little to live on and even less to raise a family on.

At Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood, this church was erected after a Czar’s son was murdered.

At the Hermitage, we learned that all the real art was in the basement (or elsewhere) and that lil Russion ladies would slap your wrist if you tried to touch anything. Even this “onyx” vase. I reached out to touch and noticed that it was chipping – fake!

Midsummer’s Eve is so called because this close to the North Pole, the sun doesn’t set for more than 1-2 hours. Thank goodness we had blackout shades in our room. This photo was taken at 1130pm.

In Estonia they make beautiful sweaters from wool. Paul bought be a beautiful orange and red shawl on the streets.

I’ve got a thing for ornate doors. Look at how beautiful this is!

In Poland, there were many young folks – since we stopped in Gydansk, a college town. We ate lunch and then purchased some tan shoes for Pablo and dealt with the tour guides incessant “Ladies and Gentlemen” speeches.

We set up the camera on timer and let it take this fun photo of us.

Although the 3 hour train ride to Berlin was a bit much, but we enjoyed Berlin immensely. We took the Jewish experience excursion and stopped at the new Jewish History museum. The sites were absolutely profound.

We had the best time in Copenhagen where we went to Tivoli Gardens and listened to music and walked down the streets in Neuhaven, Denmark. We had massages and watched Capoera. The best part about wrapping up in Copenhagen was the Marriott Bed - heavenly.

Paul and Edie’s Wedding Day

Did we tell you that it rained for 2 weeks before our wedding day? The Heaven’s opened up and it stopped raining for the rest of the day. It was a little muggy, so we had the ceremony outside with the reception inside.  I’m such a happy girl!

During the ceremony the Rabbi discussed the reason we chose to have the wedding at Morikami Gardens. It was at the suggestion of Paul’s mom, Irene, who recommended on one of our visits that we check out the beautiful gardens in Delray Beach off Jog Road. We both love the peace and serenity of the grounds, the expansive bamboo forest and wooden decks.

This one made it into a wedding magazine I saw a couple of months after the wedding. We’re famous!
